The to-do list that runs a small business is not an app with 40 features — it is the sheet on the counter that says what must happen today, who does it, and what is done. This generator builds clean, printable task lists and checklists with priorities, due dates, assignees and completion tracking, exportable as PDF for the wall or PNG for the team WhatsApp group, with a completion ratio that updates as you tick items. Lists are saved in your browser, not on a server.
What it does
- Task lists with priority (high/medium/low), due date, owner and notes.
- Recurring checklists — opening and closing routines, weekly stock checks, month-end compliance — that reset each cycle.
- Completion ratio and progress bar for each list; a summary of overdue items.
- Print layouts: A4 checklist with tick boxes, A5 daily sheet, or a compact PNG for sharing.
- Templates for common business routines (below).
Checklists that small businesses actually use
- Shop opening/closing: cash float, UPI standee visible, price tags checked, CCTV on, register locked.
- Month-end compliance: GSTR-1 by the 11th, 3B by the 20th, TDS by the 7th, PF/ESI by the 15th — pull the dates from the GST filing calendar and the TDS calculator.
- New employee onboarding: offer letter, ID card (staff ID card creator), PF/ESI enrolment, bank details, wage slip setup.
- Employee exit: handover, notice period LWD, asset return, experience letter, F&F within two days.
- Festive season prep: the eight-week plan from the festive season checklist — stock, staff, tags, offers, standees.
- Website launch: privacy policy, terms, favicon, sitemap, meta tags, schema, analytics.
- Order dispatch: pick, verify (scan), pack, label, invoice inside, tracking sent.
- Starting up: the 12-step list in How to start a small business in India in 2026.
How to use the generator
- Start from a template or a blank list; name it and set a cycle (once, daily, weekly, monthly).
- Add tasks with priority, due date and owner; drag to order.
- Tick tasks as done; the ratio and overdue count update. Recurring lists reset on schedule and keep the history.
- Print the A4/A5 layout or share the PNG; export CSV for a spreadsheet.
- Keep it short — a list with more than 15 items is a project plan, and belongs in two lists.
Running the day with a list
- Write tomorrow's list at closing time, not in the morning.
- Three "must" items at the top; everything else is "if time".
- Assign every task to a person; unassigned tasks are undone tasks.
- Review the completion ratio weekly; a list that is always 60% done is over-stuffed or under-staffed — the capacity utilization tool gives the numbers.
- Put compliance dates on the calendar as well as the list; the list is for the day, the calendar for the month.
