Most business PDFs — quotes, invoices, letters, certificates — are signed by pasting an image of a signature. Done well, that image is a crisp, transparent PNG that looks like ink; done badly, it is a phone photo of a signature on lined paper with a grey box around it. This maker lets you draw a signature with your finger or mouse, or type your name in signature-style fonts, cleans it up, and exports a transparent PNG (plus SVG) at print resolution for use in every document tool on Kaagazo and in Word, Docs, Canva and PDF editors. It runs in your browser; the signature never leaves your device.
Image signature, DSC and Aadhaar eSign: what is valid for what
- Signature image: accepted in practice for commercial correspondence, quotations, invoices, certificates and most internal HR documents. It is easy to copy, so it proves intent weakly if disputed.
- Digital Signature Certificate (DSC): a USB-token-based signature recognised under the IT Act, mandatory for company filings (MCA), GST returns of companies and LLPs, income-tax audit reports and e-tenders.
- Aadhaar eSign: OTP-based electronic signature, legally valid under the IT Act, used for loan agreements, rental agreements and many fintech flows.
Use an image for speed on everyday documents, and a DSC or eSign for contracts, statutory filings and anything a court might see. The legal detail is in Digital signatures in India: DSC vs Aadhaar eSign vs a signature image.
How to use the maker
- Draw: sign on the pad with a finger, stylus or mouse; adjust stroke width and smoothing. Type: enter your name and pick a style.
- Choose ink colour (blue or black look most authentic), then trim and clean the background — the tool removes stray marks.
- Export PNG (transparent, 300 dpi) and SVG; a 600 px-wide PNG suits A4 documents.
- Insert into the letterhead, service quote, experience letter, award certificate or any PDF editor.
- Store the file somewhere private; treat it like a stamp.
Getting a natural-looking signature
- Sign larger than you normally would; it scales down cleanly.
- A slight blue ink and 2–3 px stroke reads as a pen; pure black at 1 px looks digital.
- Keep a version with your name typed beneath for certificates and letters.
- Do not add a date to the image; type the date in the document.
Using it responsibly
- Never sign blank letterheads or send your signature file to anyone.
- For invoices, GST rules accept a digital signature or no signature at all on e-invoices; a signature image is fine on printed invoices from the GST invoice generator.
- Cheques and bank forms need a wet signature matching the bank's record; do not print an image on them.
- For signatures by staff on your behalf, issue a written authorisation on letterhead.
