Reviews decide which shop the map shows first. A business with 120 reviews at 4.6 stars gets the call; the one with 9 reviews at 5.0 does not. The difference is rarely quality — it is asking. This builder creates a polite review request with a direct link to your Google Business Profile's "write a review" form, ready to send on WhatsApp or SMS or print as a QR for the counter, table or delivery bag, so asking becomes a habit instead of an afterthought.
Getting your review link
Google gives every verified Business Profile a short link of the form https://g.page/r/XXXX/review. Find it in the Business Profile dashboard under "Ask for reviews" (or "Get more reviews"). Paste it here; the tool validates the format. If you only have your Place ID, the generator builds the search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=… form of the link, which opens the same review box.
What a good request looks like
- Short and personal: "Thanks for visiting Sharma Electricals today, Ravi! If we did well, a Google review would help us a lot: [link]."
- Timed: within a few hours of delivery or the visit, while the experience is fresh.
- Easy: one tap to the form; no "search for us on Google".
- Honest: never offer discounts or gifts for reviews — Google's policies prohibit incentives, and Consumer Protection rules on misleading endorsements apply.
- Follow-through: reply to every review, especially negative ones, within a day.
The builder offers templates for retail, restaurants, clinics, services and home delivery, in English and Hindi, with your business name and the customer's name merged in.
How to use the builder
- Paste your Google review link (or Place ID).
- Pick a template and adjust the wording; add the customer's name if sending individually.
- Tap Share on WhatsApp to send it, or copy the message for SMS and email.
- Download the QR code with a "Rate us on Google" caption for the counter, the bill, or the packaging.
- Save the message as your default; the tool remembers it in your browser.
Why it matters more in 2026
Google's AI Mode and AI Overviews summarise local businesses from reviews and profile data; a thin or stale review history means the summary is thin too. Review velocity (recent reviews) and reply rate now influence local ranking alongside proximity. The practical checklist — profile completeness, categories, Q&A, schema — is in Google AI Mode and AI Overviews are changing local search; add LocalBusiness schema to your website to reinforce the profile.
Building the habit
- Attach the request to a trigger: the bill, the delivery confirmation, the checkout WhatsApp.
- Put the QR on the payment receipt or GST invoice footer.
- Train staff with one line to say: "If you have a minute, scan this and tell Google how we did."
- Track it: reviews per 100 customers is the metric; the CSAT calculator and NPS calculator cover the internal survey side.
- Handle negatives as marketing: a calm, specific reply is read by hundreds of future customers.
